Irish company Aubren has announced the introduction of its DAQS brand of precision air handling systems into Oman through local partner Spears International LLC. Targeted at public and private medical facility clients, the systems will be manufactured and supplied for Spears International LLC, a leading Omani provider of innovative solutions for hospital projects. The announcement was made during the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Oman led by The Irish Ambassador to Oman, His Excellency Mr. Tony Cotter.

By entering the Oman market in partnership with Spears, Aubren DAQS is confident that it will be able to deploy their solutions across 20 – 50 Medical infrastructure sites in the region, representing a value of between €1 million (OMR 4 million) to €2 million (OMR 8 million) during the next four years.

Aubren DAQS is dedicated to the design and manufacture of innovative, highly energy efficient precision air quality systems, thermal management systems, indoor air quality and environmental solutions for use in Healthcare, IT and Telecom applications. The Company has worked extensively with Spears to carefully localize the DAQS products to meet the commercial and technical needs of Middle East markets.

The Aubren DAQS range of medical air handling units are uniquely compact, typically occupying 30% or less of the floor space of competitor products. This makes the products ideal for retrofit applications where space is at a premium. For new builds, more space is available for people rather than for plant and equipment.

This unique relationship between Aubren and Spears International will link the air handling design and product development skills of Aubren with the market awareness and extensive health facilities know-how of Spears International, leading to the launch of further new and innovative products for Middle East markets.

As a result of the partnership with Spears International, Aubren expects to increase international staff members by around 50 percent, with some of those based permanently in the Middle East. The company also has international outlets in Paris, Algiers, Casablanca, Johannesburg, Lagos, Riyadh and Dubai.

Aubrey E. Nuzum – Managing Director said: ‘’Aubren DAQS is very excited about the growth prospects that Middle East markets can provide through the successful implementation of our innovative Medical solutions. This will be followed by the launch of our Telecom and IT precision cooling solutions, which we also expect to be well received in the region.’’

Dr. Mohamed Darwish– Managing Director Spears said: ‘’Spears International is established as the leading promoter of highly innovative and efficient medical technologies in Oman. This partnership with Aubren provides us with increased capability to refine and invent new technologies for our growing client list.’’

Pictured above are Kevin Sherry, Enterprise Ireland International Sales and Marketing, Aubrey Nuzum, MD Aubren, Minister Charles FlanaganTD and His Excellency Tony Cotter, Irish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Welcoming the announcement Minister Flanagan said: “As Enterprise Ireland’s trade mission will demonstrate, the opportunities for innovative Irish companies to build partnerships and increase their sales to the Middle East region are real and tangible. Aubren is a great example of what is possible for Irish companies in this dynamic market, and I wish them continued success for the future”.

According to Aubrey Nuzum, Managing Director at Aubren, “We are continually looking to expand our market reach and this agreement with Al-Babtain, a highly respected solutions provider, gives us access to the huge potential offered in the KSA market.  The agreement allows us to move forward together on a number of ongoing activities with mobile network operators in KSA who are determined to reduce their OPEX costs. The idea that free cooling can’t be used in climates with high ambient temperatures is a myth. Recent changes to ASHRAE guidelines allow equipment to operate at higher temperature and humidity conditions and our solutions can provide up to 35% reduction in energy usage, whilst increasing the life of existing cooling equipment”.

“Al-Babtain is particularly excited to bring the Aubren cooling solutions to the KSA market where there is becoming a sharp focus on initiatives to reduce the energy consumption across the mobile telephone networks and several of our key clients have already undertaken to carry out detailed trials with the technology” said Fares Hamdan, Business Development Manager, Al-Babtain LeBLANC.

Kevin Sherry, Executive Director Global Business Development at Enterprise Ireland said: “Irish companies, with Enterprise Ireland assistance, have been hugely successful in growing their exports to the GCC member states. Last year, exports of Enterprise Ireland backed companies to the region increased by 12% to over €507m. Aubren’s agreement with Al-Babtain demonstrates the clear opportunities that exist for innovative and ambitious Irish companies in the region. Enterprise Ireland’s teams in Ireland and the Middle East will continue to work closely with Aubren as they scale their business in this important market”.

The continuing strong demand for both fixed and mobile data centre infrastructure, incorporating the most energy efficient air moving solutions, is driving sales growth at Aubren. Client companies draw upon the unique set of design and manufacturing solutions offered by Aubren together with the use of ebm-papst EC fan technology, for which Aubren is the exclusive distributor in Ireland.

This week Aubren opened its first ‘Satellite Production Unit’ providing an additional 1000 M2 of assembly space in the Clonminam Business Park, Portlaoise.

Paul Crawford, Commercial Director, said “Aubren is very carefully developing this new concept of ‘Satellite Production Units’.  Whilst administration and key manufacturing services will remain at the base factory, the company will have the ability to assist client companies as they reach the point of significantly scaling up their business. We are essentially taking the concept of a ‘pop-up shop’ and applying it to production units’’.

Output from the new facility will commence at the start of October, less than three weeks from acquisition of the premises.

Mezzanine_1

Aubren has this week commenced manufacturing product on its new 400m2 mezzanine floor. The expansion was necessary due to an increase in manufacturing activity in CleanTech and Medical Device products, where, in some cases, FDA approval of our facility is a requirement. This concentration of production of smaller type products on the new mezzanine floor clears the way for increased activities in larger air handling products such as Precision Air Handling units for Healthcare facilities and Data Centre cooling systems.

Tom Costello, Operations Director, said “We looked at a wide number of solutions for enhancing our manufacturing service offerings to meet the stringent requirements of medical device manufacture ranging from modifying the existing floor layout to extending the building. We found that the addition of the mezzanine floor would meet our current needs as it allowed us to increase the usable space within the existing building. Another important factor to consider was to ensure minimal disruption to the business. The structure of the mezzanine was manufactured off-site, resulting in on-site construction lasting only 7 days”.

As part of the expansion, Aubren has also been able to set up a dedicated prototype area which will give us flexibility to turn around rapid prototypes and pre-production runs.

EI Iran Ireland

Aubren, having recently established a number of local partners in African and Middle Eastern markets for their air management products,  are pleased to attend the Enterprise Ireland led Iran- Ireland Technology Forum which is taking place in Tehran from Monday 23rd May. The forum will bring together Iranian technology professionals and some leading Irish technology companies offering innovative ICT and Telecoms technologies.

Aubren believes the Iranian market offers huge opportunities for Irish companies. With a population of 80 million and an economy estimated at €400 billion, it is the largest country to rejoin the global marketplace after long sanctions and embargoes were lifted in January 2016. The Iran Telecoms and ICT sector is growing and offering opportunities to international companies like Aubren and their design and manufacturing client companies.

During the forum, Aubrey Nuzum, MD hopes to assess market data to anticipate future market developments in Iran. It will also be crucial to develop relationships with potential local partners as this will be key to open up opportunities for the company.

Component Award 2016: Ventilation concepts for energy retrofits.

As a result of winning award, there was keen interest from conference delegates to find out more about the product and the Vaventis team enjoyed a very busy two days at the show. We believe that Vaventis are worthy winners of the award as they have been relentless in their pursuit of an energy efficient solution to decentralised ventilation with heat recovery. The core of the fresh-r® unit is a patented fine wire heat exchanger that consists of 8 km ultra thin copper wire with a total weight of less then 0.5 kg. With a heat transfer coefficient of 400 W/mK copper transfers heat 1000 times better than polyethylene of which traditional heat exchangers are made. Using ebm-papst  fans, the low pressure drop in the heat exchanger and the aerodynamic design,  the fresh-r has the highest capacity on the market at 30dB(a).  Combined with intelligent controls it has a higher overall efficiency, which results in more comfortable air coming in and a shorter payback time of the fresh-r®
