Aubren Wins Energy & Environmental Award at IRI Industry Awards 2026

Aubren is delighted to announce that its EC Fan Retrofit Team has won the Energy & Environmental Award at the 2026 IRI Industry Awards, held on 2nd October at The Grand Hotel, Malahide. This latest recognition follows three SEAI award wins over the past 18 months, further highlighting Aubren’s continued commitment to innovation, energy efficiency and carbon reduction.

The award recognises the positive impact of Aubren’s EC Fan Retrofit Solution in helping organisations reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and improve the performance of ageing Air Handling Units (AHUs) through advanced EC fan technology.

Aubren recognised for energy efficiency and sustainability

Organised by the Institute of Refrigeration Ireland (IRI), the annual IRI Industry Awards celebrate innovation, excellence and achievement across Ireland’s refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC industry.

The Energy & Environmental Award, sponsored by CAREL Ireland, recognises outstanding contributions to improving energy efficiency and environmental sustainability within the industry.

Michelle McEvoy, Retrofit Sales Manager at Aubren, accepted the award on behalf of the Aubren team from David Killalea, Managing Director of CAREL Ireland.

The award entry highlighted the measurable results achieved through Aubren’s EC fan retrofit project at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin.

By upgrading an existing AHU with high-efficiency EC fan technology, Aubren delivered a 23% reduction in fan energy consumption, annual electricity savings of 17,918 kWh and an estimated 40.5 tonnes of CO₂ savings.

Building on Aubren’s award-winning success

This latest IRI Industry Award builds on Aubren’s growing recognition for its EC Fan Retrofit Solution, following two wins at the SEAI Energy Show 2025 and a third SEAI award in 2026 for Best Sustainable Product/Project.

Together, these achievements reflect the engineering expertise and dedication of the Aubren team in developing retrofit solutions that deliver measurable improvements in energy efficiency, carbon reduction and long-term operational performance.

Aubren’s EC Fan Retrofit Solution enables organisations to modernise existing HVAC systems with advanced electronically commutated fan technology, reducing energy consumption, improving reliability and extending equipment lifespan without the need for complete AHU replacement.

Applicable across healthcare, pharmaceutical, data centre, commercial and industrial environments, the solution offers a proven approach to improving the efficiency and sustainability of existing infrastructure.

The IRI Energy & Environmental Award further reinforces Aubren’s commitment to supporting organisations on their decarbonisation journey through innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
